A home once owned by Robert Redford sells in Malibu

Update: A Malibu beach home once owned by actor-producer-director Robert Redford has sold for $11.75 million.

The gated two-story, built in 1948, has walls of glass, living areas that open to patios, and stone and hardwood floors. There are five bedrooms, 4 1/2 bathrooms, two fireplaces and 5,329 square feet of living space in the seaside house along Broad Beach.

Redford, 73, is directing “The Conspirator,” a historical drama. He starred in “ Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid” (1969), “The Way We Were” (1973) and “The Sting” (1973). He received an Oscar for directing “Ordinary People” (1980).

The house came on the market in January at $13.8 million.

The listing agent was Sandra Miller of Engel & Volkers, Santa Monica. Sigi Ulbrich of Prudential California Realty, Westlake Village, represented the buyer, according to the Multiple Listing Service.
