From L.A. to NYC: New Tim Campbell furniture at the Printing House
Model units at the Printing House West Village have many pieces from the collection released this month by Los Angeles-based Studio Tim Campbell. The Hudson Bibliotheque, for example, consists of low-slung cabinet, bookshelves and library ladder at right, made of aged oak and tarnished nickel. The design is a riff on what Richard Neutra created for the Singleton House in L.A., with upturned shelf edges that act as built-in bookends. (Karyn R. Millet)
An aerial view of the living room captures Campbell’s Battersea daybed from another angle. The Marfa cubes in the center of the room can be grouped as a coffee table or deployed individually next to an armchair, perhaps. The unlacquered brass finish is meant to develop a nice patina over time. (Karyn Millet)
The Battersea daybed’s refined horsehair and linen upholstery is balanced by the tarnished nickel of the base. (Studio Tim Campbell)
The Stamboul Valise’s recessed drawers float over polished brass legs and are upholstered on the sides with indigo horsehair. The top is glass, so men can see down into customized compartments for watches, sunglasses, cuff links and the like. Lower drawers can be customized for rolled ties, belts and other accessories. The Leopold bed from Studio Tim Campbell is constructed of whiskey barrel oak and exposed brass butterfly joinery. The studio’s Kogeru nightstand, with brass accents and pullout table, and Berlin console by the window have a burnt oak finish. (Karyn R. Millet)
Another point of view inside the Printing House West Village: the Kogeru nightstand, with its burnt oak finish and pull-out table, and the Leopold bed, with its recessed base and 4-inch-deep oak headboard. (Karyn R. Millet)
The Berlin console table, like many pieces in the collection, is a historical silhouette rendered in a contemporary burnt oak finish. The table is one of a dozen pieces in the collection, to be sold through Studio Tim Campbell, Dering Hall and the Printing House West Village.
