Widow
Chela Ortiz, the widow of slain Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputy Jerry Ortiz, kisses his nameplate which now adorns the Memorial Wall at the Sheriff’s Training Academy in Whittier. Oritz was shot and killed on June 24th, 2005 and was honored Wednesday along with five other peace officers killed in 2005 along with two others from the 1920’s.
