Lakers reserve guard Sasha Vujacic has purchased a unit at the W Hollywood Residences.
The condominium, in the $350-million development at the landmark intersection of Hollywood and Vine, has two bedrooms and 2 1/2 bathrooms in about 2,100 square feet. The purchase price was not available, but a comparable unit is listed at $2.1 million.
His west-facing condo has views of Century City, West Hollywood and Beverly Hills. He will be among the first owners to move in when the W Hollywood Hotel & Residences opens in mid-January.
Vujacic, 25, should feel right at home. He grew up in a condo in Slovenia, although perhaps not this posh. Amenities for the 143 residential units include concierge service, a rooftop fitness facility, a residents-only rooftop lap pool, valet and self-parking, and housekeeping services. The 15-story building has a restaurant, a nightclub and shops as well as 305 hotel rooms.
The shooting guard joined the Lakers in 2004 and last year signed a three-year deal worth $15 million.

What? There’s no football field?
Football great Joe Montana and his wife, Jennifer, have listed their 500-acre wine country estate in Calistoga for $49 million.
The Northern California property includes a 9,700-square-foot Tuscan-inspired main house, an equestrian center, two year-round creeks, a pond, a regulation-sized basketball court, a skeet shooting range, a caretaker’s residence, a guesthouse, a swimming pool with a spa, a gym, a boccie ball court and a producing olive farm.
The main house has a loggia open to the outdoors, a sitting room in an upstairs tower and a climate-controlled wine cellar and tasting room. There are three bedrooms and 3 1/2 bathrooms.
Designed for indoor-outdoor living and used by its owners as a family home and a place for entertaining, the property has a courtyard with hand-painted frescoes, antique statues and fountains. The Montanas often take guests up in the outdoor viewing tower, which has panoramic views.
Montana, 53, started his NFL career with the San Francisco 49ers in 1979 and was with the team through 1992. He played two more years with the Kansas City Chiefs. The quarterback is a three-time Super Bowl MVP and a four-time Super Bowl champ.

Tarzana auction a sign of the times
A 13,500-square-foot estate built on spec in the hills of Tarzana is going to auction. The bank-owned mansion had been priced at $9,775,000 and cost more than $7.5 million to build.
The Tuscan-inspired house, designed for entertaining and constructed in 2008, has seven bedrooms and 11 bathrooms. Overlooking the San Fernando Valley, it sits on 1 1/2 acres of park-like grounds, which include a tennis court, koi pond with waterfall and covered verandas and patios.
The subterranean garage fits 16 cars. The spa tub area in the master bathroom has room for a party of 10 adults. The glass steam shower with multiple shower heads could easily hold a half-dozen. There are two kitchens, three wet bars and five fireplaces.
The lender will auction the property Dec. 5 at a minimum starting bid of $2.1 million -- 21.5% of the original asking price.

Musicians keep changing keys
Music industry executive Mark Mazzetti has sold his Hollywood Hills-area home for $1,089,000.
The property has a lagoon pool surrounded by lawn and palm trees on more than 1 acre.
The midcentury house has a large living room with a fireplace, a wall of windows looking toward the swimming pool, two bedrooms and 1 3/4 bathrooms in 1,774 square feet of living space. It sits on a flat promontory with vertical drops on three sides and views of the Hollywood sign, the Griffith Observatory, the Palos Verdes Peninsula and the ocean.
Mazzetti has held executive positions at A&M Records and A&M/Polygram, among other record companies, and been a consultant and independent contractor to Universal Music Enterprises, Gateway Mastering, Rondor Music and Mattel. He has worked with and guided stars including John Mayer, Sting, Janet Jackson and Amy Grant.
He purchased the home in 1992 from singer-songwriter Axl Rose of the band Guns N’ Roses for $640,000, according to public records.
The buyers this time were attorney Alan Hearty and his wife, Hilary, a finance executive who moonlights as a singer-songwriter and can continue the home’s musical line of ownership.
Her grandfather, viola player Izzy Zir, performed in New York City from the ‘40s through the ‘60s with jazz greats and pop singers including Charlie Parker, Perry Como and Frank Sinatra. He also played with the NBC orchestra.
The listing agent was Cliff Weimer of Prudential California Realty’s Pacific Design Center office. Lisa Brende of Coldwell Banker, Los Feliz, represented the buyers.
$6.5 million for actors’ home
Update: A 1920 Spanish-style hacienda in Brentwood owned by actor Dylan McDermott and actress Shiva Rose has sold for $6.5 million, according to the Multiple Listing Service.
The walled and gated four-bedroom, three-bathroom residence has been home to entertainment-industry couples including Michelle Pfeiffer and television show creator David E. Kelley, and Melanie Griffith and Antonio Banderas. A 250-year-old oak tree sits in the frontyard as the centerpiece of the home.
The two-story great room with beamed, cathedral ceilings opens to the dining area. The bedroom wing has three suites off a glass-walled galleria showcasing the gardens and fountains.
McDermott and Rose, whose divorce was finalized at the beginning of this year, bought the 4,000-square-foot house in 1999 for nearly $4 million, public records show.
McDermott, 48, known for his long-running role in “The Practice” (1997 to 2004), stars in the 2009 TNT cop show “Dark Blue.”
Rose, 40, has appeared in episodes of “CSI: Miami,” “Las Vegas” and, this year, “The Young and the Restless.”
