Smash and dash: Speedy demolition of one side of Mulholland Drive bridge is key to ‘Carmageddon’

Construction crews have just 53 hours to demolish half the Mulholland Drive bridge in the Sepulveda Pass over the 405 Freeway on July 16-18. The southern side of the bridge will be knocked down first, with a repeat performance - and another freeway closure - about a year later for removal of the north side.
