Seriously funny toons

Sometimes we visual jesters probe a little deeper, ask the more provocative question, raise the levity to another level. While most of us belabored the obvious on the children’s healthcare program veto (wads for war, chump change for children), Nate Beeler smoked the pack by adding context. And though blasting Blackwater made for a soft target (anyone in favor of mercenary vigilantes taking out bystanders?), Dwane Powell reminded us that their ultimate body armor is a State Department shield. Finally, Mike Keefe expressed obligatory outrage at the Myanmar crackdown (again, a show of hands in support of mowing down ascetics?) but also took aim at international impotence. Hey, cartoonists are journalists too! Funny, though, we never seem to get promoted to editor.
