Update: This Open Cup semifinal is a showdown between FC Dallas and the Galaxy, currently No. 1 and No. 3, respectively, in Major League Soccer’s Western Conference. It’s also a rematch of the 2005 Open Cup final, which the Galaxy won 1-0. The team hasn’t won the tournament since. Coach Bruce Arena is aiming for his first Open Cup trophy in Los Angeles after winning it twice with D.C. United. The Galaxy are unbeaten at home this season and are coming off a 2-2 draw with the New York Red Bulls on Sunday night. They have another MLS match Saturday against Colorado. Galaxy striker Gyasi Zardes has missed two games because of a chest muscle strain but has been training with the team this week.
