Sochi Olympics: Martin Fourcade wins men’s 12.5-kilometer pursuit

SOCHI, Russia — Martin Fourcade won gold in the 12.5-kilometer pursuit Monday to earn France its first medal at the Sochi Olympics.

Fourcade missed one target before finishing in 33 minutes, 48.6 seconds.

Ondrej Moravec of Czech Republic finished 14.1 later to take silver, and Jean Guillaume Beatrix of France earned bronze, 24.2 behind Fourcade.

Ole Einar Bjoerndalen of Norway came fourth and missed out on a record 13th Winter Olympics medal.
