A brush fire that broke out Friday afternoon along the 134 Freeway in Eagle Rock and temporarily forced the closure of the eastbound lanes has been extinguished, authorities said.

The eastbound lanes at Figueroa Street were closed as firefighters battled the blaze, which was first reported shortly after 6 p.m., officials said. Both Los Angeles and Pasadena fire crews responded.

All lanes of the freeway have since reopened.

In all, 1.5 acres burned over a 2-mile stretch adjacent to the freeway, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
