Rain, cool temperatures coming this weekend

A cold pressure system is expected to bring some rain and possible thunderstorms throughout Southern California beginning Saturday afternoon and continuing into Sunday, forecasters said.
Showers are expected over much of the Los Angeles region, with some areas getting up to an inch over the weekend, according to the National Weather Service.
Temperatures are also expected to dip into the low to mid-60s along the coast and possibly into the 50s in the valleys, said Bonnie Bartling, a weather specialist with the NWS in Oxnard. Snow levels could to drop to about 4,500 feet in mountain areas.
No significant flooding is anticipated, but the weather will be severe enough to cause hazardous driving conditions, particularly along the 5 Freeway near the Kern County line, Bartling said. Gusty winds, rain and snow could make for a dangerous drive home at the end of the Thanksgiving Day weekend, she said.
The storm system is expected to continue moving inland on Sunday, Bartling said.
Rain in the Los Angeles area is expected to clear up by Sunday night.
