Times columnist Bill Plaschke to co-host morning radio show on Beast 980

Times columnist Bill Plaschke is joining the airwaves with a morning show that kicks off this week on all-sports radio station the Beast 980 AM.

Plaschke and Zelasko,” with co-host Jeanne Zelasko, is on weekdays from 6-9 a.m.

“I look forward to connecting with the community in a new and exciting way,” said Plaschke, who has written for The Times since 1987 and is a regular panelist on ESPN’s “Around the Horn.”

Program Director Tom Lee said Plaschke is “the ultimate fit” for the station. “It will be exciting to get three hours of him every day.”

Co-host Zelasko has been with the Beast 980 AM since 2014 and previously was a host and sideline reporter for FOX Sports. She described Plaschke as “one of the leading opinion makers in L.A.”

Plaschke has been the Associated Press National Sports Columnist of the Year five times and has written five books. He is on Twitter at @billplaschke.
