‘I don’t want you to be sad. I love you, my son’
The nonprofit Grassroots Leadership collected letters from mothers who were separated from their children at the U.S. border and provided English translations. The Austin, Texas-based nonprofit asked that the women’s last names and identifying information be redacted. In some cases, women asked that their first names also be redacted.
