Report: Third woman considered complaint against Herman Cain

A third woman has come forward alleging “aggressive and unwanted behavior” by Herman Cain during his tenure as head of the National Restaurant Assn., the Associated Press is reporting.

The news service says the woman, who spoke on the condition of anonymity for fear of retaliation, said she considered filing a workplace complaint against Cain because of his conduct, which “included a private invitation to his corporate apartment.”

She also said that Cain’s sexually suggestive gestures or statements came at about the same time two of her co-workers settled harassment complaints.

Those two complaints, first reported on by Politico on Sunday, have roiled Cain’s bid for the Republican presidential nomination just as polls showed him at or near the lead nationally and in key early-voting states.

Cain on Wednesday was meeting with lawmakers on Capitol Hill to discuss his campaign. He has said in past days that he’s the victim of a “smear campaign.”

After doing a series of interviews earlier this week, he dodged questions from reporters on Capitol Hill and staked out near where he spoke in nearby Virginia this morning.
