394,000. That’s the Obamacare gap.
The administration had hoped for 500,000 healthcare sign-ups in the first month it was available. The reality was 106,000. It’s a symbol of failure of the healthcare law, trumpeted Republicans. It’s the first step in affordable healthcare becoming a reality, the Democrats demurred.
Check out the breakdown below. Bright spots on the healthcare map include California and Washington, Nos. 1 and 2 in the pack. Both are among states that embraced Obamacare but created their own insurance exchanges -- thus avoiding the glitchy federal site that put off many Americans.
