Official: UN nuclear chief will visit Iran soon

The head of the U.N. nuclear watchdog agency will visit Iran soon for further talks on the inspection of Iran’s nuclear facilities, according to Iranian state television.

In comments broadcast Tuesday morning, Iranian nuclear chief Ali Akbar Salehi said Yukiya Amano, head of the International Atomic Energy Agency, would travel to Tehran, “within the next 3-4 days.”

Salehi also said a 12-member team of IAEA inspectors, are scheduled to arrive in Tehran on Tuesday.

Iran and world powers reached a historic nuclear deal in July that curbs Tehran’s disputed nuclear program in return for the lifting of international sanctions.
