What to expect

Eight times a year, Image publishes a themed issue covering style and culture in L.A. and beyond. Expect to find interviews with pop and cult artists, editors’ picks in luxury and local fashion, the latest in innovative architecture and design, curated lists of drops and local events, and original photography and writing from some of the nation’s top talent.

Image is known for its artful, authentic storytelling on Southern California’s rich cultural output and its impact around the world. From delightful photo essays on bathrooms to deeply felt personal essays on surfing and mullet haircuts, to intimate and rigorously reported profiles on L.A. luminaries, the magazine is covering and crafting the kinds of stories that can’t be replicated.

Our regular contributors include staff writers Julissa James and Claire Salinda who cover culture, style, fashion, art and L.A.; Keyla Marquez, our fashion director at large, who tells elevated stories through clothes; Dave Schilling, our style guru; Goth Shakira, the love expert; and Harmony Holiday, who’s out here unearthing L.A.’s untold histories. The magazine is edited by Elisa Wouk Almino and art directed and designed by Jessica de Jesus and Elizabeth Burr.
