Getter’s Island, splicing the Delaware River, lingers between the Pennsylvania and New Jersey border, a small landmass with a foggy past. It was named for Carl Getter, made famous after he was hanged on the island for murdering his wife.

The nearly six-acre island in Easton has been recently listed for sale, after being owned by the same family for nearly 80 years. The island is currently vacant, but is commonly used for camping and kayaking.
