World Series of Poker invites Kobe Bryant as tribute to Jerry Buss

The World Series of Poker invited Kobe Bryant via Twitter to play in a tribute to the late Jerry Buss.

Poker misses Dr. Buss. Game. Class. We invite @kobebryant to play in tribute. #sharksvsmamba…

Bryant politely declined:

@wsop Thanks for the invite, means a lot. Doc says no go. I’ll be there in spirit, no bluff. Dr. Buss, best owner ever.

Buss, who passed away Feb. 18, was an avid poker player and WSOP supporter.

Bryant is recovering from surgery to repair a torn Achilles tendon.
