Kimono exhibit at the Portland Japanese Garden
The Portland Japanese Garden examines how the seasons and passage of time are reflected in the design of kimonos. Also, the workshop “How to Wear a Work of Art” will show how to wear the garment and its accouterments. The exhibit coincides with “In Winter, Silk Linings: The Kimono in Print,” an exhibition at the Portland Art Museum.
When, where: Nov. 3 to 18 at the garden, 611 S.W. Kingston Drive. “Silk Linings” is Nov. 17 to Feb. 17 at the art museum, 1219 S.W. Park Ave.
Cost: Garden admission $8, $5.25 ages 6 to 17, children 5 and younger are free; $10 per person for workshop, reservations required. Museum admission $10, $5 ages 5 to 18, 4 and younger free.
