Canada: You can watch the Northern Lights in comfort, not the cold

Share

If you want to view the Northern Lights without getting up from your cozy bed or venturing outside bundled up like the Marshmallow Puft Man, a remote lodge in Canada’s Northwest Territories can deliver just such a cushy and awe-inspiring experience.

The adventure is offered at Blachford Lake Lodge, a remote resort accessible only by floatplane. Guests can watch the ultimate light show while snuggled under a warm duvet or they can catch the display from a tipi or a hot tub.

The Aurora Tour begins in Yellowknife, the territorial capital, where travelers spend two nights before flying to the lodge. Depending on the package, visitors then spend two or five nights at the upscale lodge.
