Bali suitcase murder verdict
Heather Mack, 19, waits in jail after her April 21 verdict hearing in Bali, Indonesia. An Indonesian judge sentenced Mack to 10 years in jail and her boyfriend Tommy Schaefer to 18 years after they were found guilty of murdering Mack’s mother, Sheila von Wiese-Mack, whose body was found stuffed inside a suitcase in the back of a taxi outside a luxury Bali hotel.
An Indonesian court has convicted an American, Tommy Schaefer, of murdering his girlfriend’s mother and sentenced him to 18 years in jail. The girlfriend, Heather Mack, also an American, was sentenced to 10 years for helping in the Aug. 12 crime.
