Live updates: Manhunt on for suspect after Brussels terror attack leaves more than 30 dead

A series of terrorist attacks struck Brussels early Tuesday, leaving at least 31 dead and scores injured.

What we know so far:

  • 3 explosions went off in the Belgian capital Tuesday morning.
  • Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the attacks.
  • At about 8 a.m. in Brussels, two explosions hit the airport. The death toll at the airport was reported at 11 with at least 35 injured. A suicide bomber is responsible for at least one of those explosions, according to the Belgian public prosecutor.
  • Around 9 a.m., another explosion struck the Maelbeek metro station, located near the political hub of the city and close to European Union institutions. Twenty people were killed and 55 injured in that attack.
  • All flights in and out of Brussels Airport are canceled until further notice. The entire Brussels transport system is shut down, as is international train travel to Belgium.
  • Three Utah men in Europe as Mormon missionaries are among the seriously injured.
