Ex-UCLA point guard Earl Watson puts Encino home on the market

Former UCLA and NBA point guard Earl Watson has listed his home in Encino for sale at $3.899 million.

The gated Mediterranean, built in 2008, has a domed foyer and gallery walls and fireplaces in the living room and master bedroom. There are six bedrooms and 8.5 bathrooms in 8,573 square feet of space.

Among amenities is a screening room, a wood-paneled office and a dual-island kitchen. A wine room/bar sits off of the dining room. The master bedroom sports a large walk-in closet, a steam shower and a private terrace.

French doors open to tiered grounds containing an outdoor loggia, a sun deck and a pool and spa. Elsewhere is an outdoor dining area and a detached guesthouse.

Watson purchased the home in 2010 for $4 million, records show. James Harris, David Parnes and Adrienne Martz of the Agency share the listing.

Security concerns may be factoring into Watson’s decision to list the home, which he has offered for lease in recent years. In late February, police were called to the property after four armed men entered the home and held the occupants at gunpoint, eventually making off with cash and jewelry.

Watson, 35, was a four-year starter for the Bruins, earning all-Pac-10 first team honors as a senior in 2001. He played 13 seasons in the NBA for the Seattle SuperSonics/Oklahoma City Thunder, Memphis Grizzlies and Utah Jazz, among others.

Watson has since entered the coaching ranks, joining the Austin Spurs, the D-League affiliate of the San Antonio Spurs, as an assistant coach in October.
