Lakers executive Johnny Buss finds home court in Chatsworth
Lakers executive and owner Johnny Buss will be holding court in Chatsworth after buying a lakefront estate in the area for $2.625 million.
Found within the guard-gated Monteria Estates, the home features a Colonial-style main residence, a one-bedroom guesthouse, a north-south tennis court, a pool and spa and a private boat dock on more than 2.5 acres.
A koi pond and motor court sit at the front of the home, built in 1980. Entered through a grand foyer, the home opens to a double-height living room with floor-to-ceiling windows and a fireplace.
The three-story floor plan, clad in hardwoods and detailed molding, has a formal dining room, an office, a pub/game room, a sun room, five bedrooms and five bathrooms in about 5,600 square feet.
Among highlights is a center-island chef’s kitchen complete with a large brick fireplace. The second-floor master sports a walk-in closet and a fireplace.

Buss, 58, is the oldest of late Lakers owner Jerry Buss’ six children. The part-owner currently oversees corporate development for the NBA team.
The property originally came to market in October 2013 at $2.895 million, records show.
