Neil Patrick Harris prices his Sherman Oaks home to sell -- and it does

Neil Patrick Harris, who starred in “How I Met Your Mother,” and actor David Burtka sold their house in Sherman Oaks for its asking price of $2.995 million in less than a month.

Built in 1991, the Traditional-style home features a formal entry, a step-down living room with built-in window seating, a dining room that can seat 10, a home office, a large kitchen open to a family room/home theater, six bedrooms and five bathrooms. There are 4,191 square feet of living space on two stories.

A swimming pool, an outdoor shower, a fire pit and a built-in pizza oven are among features on the quarter-acre site.

Harris, 41, will star in the fall thriller “Gone Girl.” His scores of film and television credits include the title role in the 1989-93 series “Doogie Howser M.D.”

He also keeps busy on Broadway and won a lead actor Tony Award this year for his role in “Hedwig and the Angry Inch.”

The property was purchased four years ago for $2.1 million.

Monty Iceman of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices was the listing agent. Lisa Chase of Coldwell Banker represented the buyer.
