Will she be needing a gardener?
Eva Longoria, who costars on the hit ABC show “Desperate Housewives,” has purchased a Hollywood Hills home for nearly $1.2 million.
Longoria, the youngest housewife in the ensemble cast, bought a three-bedroom, three-bathroom Mediterranean built in the 1920s. The 2,000-square-foot home has a grand entry with a fireplace. It also has an updated kitchen and a large living room with hardwood floors.
On the new show, which recently ranked No. 1 in the country among network dramas, Longoria, 29, plays glamorous former model Gabrielle Solis. The fickle Gabrielle is married to handsome, wealthy Carlos but had a fling with her young gardener, a situation that has turned messy.
In April, Longoria is expected to start shooting a feature film with Michael Douglas. Before “Desperate Housewives,” she appeared on the daytime drama “The Young and the Restless,” the comedy-variety show “Hot Tamales Live” and the USA police series “L.A. Dragnet.”
“Desperate Housewives” also stars Marcia Cross, Teri Hatcher, Felicity Huffman and Nicollette Sheridan.
The series and Hatcher won Golden Globe Awards in January.
David Stratton and Amber Kristen of Hollywood Hills Real Estate Co. had the listing, and Michelle Jones of Keller Williams, Sunset Strip, represented Longoria, real estate sources said.
Had a ball, now Desi Jr.’s selling
Desi Arnaz Jr., son of actress Lucille Ball and bandleader, actor and producer Desi Arnaz, has sold his Beverly Hills home of 30 years for about $1.7 million.
The house, which Ball had helped her son find, has four bedrooms and 3 1/2 bathrooms. The contemporary-style house has city-to-ocean views, two fireplaces and a grassy yard.
The buyer is designer Barclay Butera, who plans to restore “the midcentury feel and keep the integrity of the property,” said Arnaz, who also expressed relief that the house would not be torn down.
Butera, who has a showroom on La Brea Avenue, is inspired by the classic, tailored lines of Hollywood furnishings and homes of the 1940s and ‘50s. His Newport Beach-based Barclay Butera Inc. also has a Park City, Utah, showroom.
Arnaz and his dance-instructor wife, Amy, live in Boulder City, Nev., where they own the Boulder City Ballet Company and run the nonprofit Boulder City Theater Company. He appeared in his parents’ series, “I Love Lucy,” soon after he was born in 1953. Later, he was in a number of made-for-television movies and series episodes, and he played his father in the film “The Mambo Kings” (1992).
His father died in 1986; his mother, in 1989. His sister, Lucie Arnaz, has maintained a successful acting career.

Chicago sax player sells Encino home
Walter Parazaider, a sax and flute player and founding member of the Grammy-winning band Chicago, and his wife, Jac- Lynn, have sold their Encino home for close to $2.2 million. They plan to move out of state.
The Encino home, owned from 1950 to 1977 by Patti Andrews of the singing Andrews Sisters, is Cape Cod in style and has four bedrooms and four bathrooms in nearly 4,200 square feet. The house, built in 1946, also has a finished basement, a pool, a spa and a gazebo.
The Parazaiders had owned the home for 28 years. The band will celebrate its 38th anniversary on Feb. 15. The “Chicago Love Songs” album was released in late January. Before going on tour with Earth, Wind & Fire this summer, the band plans to record a new album.
Jerry Jolton, with Coldwell Banker, Beverly Hills South, and Lynne Leonard, with the same company in Beverly Hills and Woodland Hills, handled both sides of the deal.
Hollywood Hills suits his style
Danny Teeson, the lifestyle expert of Bravo’s new show “Queer Eye for the Straight Girl,” has purchased a Hollywood Hills home for slightly more than $1 million.
Teeson’s new house is on three levels and has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a guest apartment, city-to-ocean views and a pool. The 29-year-old is renovating the 2,050-square-foot Midcentury Contemporary.
Before buying in the hills, Teeson, who is British, was a choreographer, designer and party planner in England. He was a member of the original London cast of “Fame, the Musical,” and he danced with and choreographed for such performers as Kylie Minogue, Geri Halliwell, Diana Ross, Gloria Estefan and Usher. He also has produced and directed L.A. fashion and trade shows.

Athlete-singer selling his home
Scott Radinsky, a former Chicago White Sox and L.A. Dodger pitcher-turned-baseball coach and lead singer with the punk-rock band Pulley, has listed his Westlake Village home at just under $4 million. He is selling his home because he will be out of state to coach the Cleveland Indians.
His home has five bedrooms and 5 1/2 bathrooms in 6,800 square feet. The gated Mediterranean estate, on about 2 acres, has mountain views and 20-foot ceilings in the living room and gym/entertaining room. The house was built in 2001.
Radinsky, 36, was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s disease in 1994. He missed a pro baseball season but recovered.
The Glendale-born Radinsky, a former singer with Ten Foot Pole, was a left-handed relief pitcher for the Dodgers in the late ‘90s. He retired from the mound in 2001.
