‘Laguna Beach’s’ Kristin Cavallari lists in, well, Laguna Beach
In the real Orange County, not everyone ends up living in their custom-built home.
The intended family residence of actress Kristin Cavallari has come on the market at $13.95 million in Three Arch Bay, a gated Laguna Beach community.
Cavallari was playing herself in 28 episodes of “Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County” (2004-05) during part of the eight-year construction period but never occupied the feng shui-savvy residence. And in what may seem to blur the lines between reality and reality TV, the home was designed by architect Jim Conrad, father of fellow cast member Lauren Conrad, who went on to star in “The Hills” (2006-09).
The newly built contemporary has four bedrooms and six bathrooms in 7,100 square feet and sits on 3.25 acres with views of Catalina and the coastline. Natural stone -- more than $2 million was spent on masonry -- and hardwoods were used extensively in the construction. There is an infinity pool, nearly an acre of landscaped grounds and gardens, and parking for 25 cars.
Cavallari, 22, became a spokeswoman for the clothing company Bongo and continues to act in film and TV, as well as host and take part in reality shows.
Now “The Hills” universe is buzzing with speculation that she may be appearing in the show next season just as Conrad, 23, is wrapping up her role in the May 31 episode. MTV isn’t saying.

Dinah Shore’s onetime digs
The Palm Springs house of sitcom writer-director-producer David Lee has come on the market at $5,995,000 in the Old Las Palmas neighborhood.
The renovated 1963 estate, designed by architect Donald Wexler for big band-era singer and television show host Dinah Shore, sits on 1.3 acres. The 7,000-square-foot Modernist showplace has six bedrooms and 7 1/2 bathrooms. There are floor-to-ceiling glass walls, wooden ceilings, a massive stone fireplace and a sunken bar in the living room.
Although there’s a tennis court and a pristine swimming pool, the sport that the Emmy-winning Shore is most often associated with is golf. A player herself, she helped found one of the major tournaments on the LPGA tour.
Lee partnered with Peter Casey in writing and producing “The Jeffersons” for six years and “Cheers” (1984-93). Along with David Angell, they created the Emmy-winning series “Frasier” (1993-2004). More recently he has turned to the theater, directing revivals including “South Pacific” at the Hollywood Bowl.

Jewel sells a Spanish gem
Singer-songwriter JewelKilcher and her husband, rodeo champion Ty Murray, have sold their Hollywood Hills house for $1.4 million.
The Spanish-style home has two bedrooms and two bathrooms in 1,781 square feet with canyon and city views. A third bedroom in the restored 1938 home had been converted to a master closet. There is an updated kitchen, a brick patio, an office and an attached three-car garage. The house had come on the market in October at $1.75 million.
The Grammy-nominated Jewel, 34, who has sold millions of albums worldwide, released her first independent album, “Lullaby,” this month. Murray, 39, has been tearing it up on ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars,” performing with “So You Think You Can Dance” alumnus Chelsie Hightower before he was cowboy-booted off this week in the semifinals.
Kilcher and Murray make their home in Stephenville, Texas, where they own a ranch.

Speak-easy meets ‘Gossip Girl’
The 1928 Los Feliz home of “Gossip Girl” co-creator and producer Josh Schwartz and his wife, Jill, is well-equipped should Prohibition return. One of the floor-to-ceiling bookshelves in the library slides aside to reveal a bootlegger’s wine cellar.
Recently listed at $2,395,000, the gated Spanish-style house has five bedrooms and 5 1/2 bathrooms in 3,468 square feet. It has a two-story foyer, a hand-carved vaulted ceiling in the living room, stained-glass windows and wrought-iron chandeliers.
There is a flagstone-paved courtyard and tropical landscaping. A maid’s suite has its own entrance. Other features include a screening room with wet bar, plus a swimming pool and spa.
Schwartz, 32, has numerous executive producer and writing credits including “Chuck” (2007-09), “Gossip Girl” (2007-09) and “The O.C.” (2003-07).

Update: Actress Khandi Alexander of “CSI: Miami” has sold her Sunset Strip-area home for $2.75 million after it spent about six months on the market.
The four-bedroom, 4 1/2 -bathroom contemporary Mediterranean, built in 1991, has 4,126 square feet of living space. The house has a two-story entry, a three-car garage, five fireplaces and a lap pool.
Alexander, 51, has played medical examiner Alexx Woods since 2002 on the series.
Alex Brunkhorst of Coldwell Banker, Beverly Hills, represented the seller, and Corinne Allemand of the same office represented the buyer, according to the MLS.
