Samantha Harris sells Westwood home for $1.64 million
“Dancing With the Stars” co-host and “The Insider” correspondent Samantha Harris and her husband, financial wholesaler Michael Hess, have sold their Westwood home for $1.64 million. Talk about a quickstep: The house had come on the market in late October at $1,595,000.
The 1930s Spanish two-story has four bedrooms and 3 1/2 baths in about 3,000 square feet and has been extensively remodeled. The second-story master suite features a marble-faced fireplace, a sun deck, beamed cathedral ceilings and wooded views. The couple added a sun-filled 160-square-foot playroom for their toddler off the main living area, with French doors that lead to the backyard garden.
“We have loved this house and the family-friendly neighborhood,” said Harris, who also has been co-hosting “Entertainment Tonight Weekend” recently. “But we found a house much closer to the studio with a big yard for our little one.”
Harris, 36, has hosted ABC’s top-rated dancing show with Tom Bergeron since 2006.

Family remodel has new premiere
Actor French Stewart and his wife, actress and interior designer Katherine LaNasa, have listed their renovated and expanded Hollywood Hills-area home for $4,195,000.
The 1936 traditional two-story house has four bedrooms and five bathrooms. It sits behind tall hedges on about a third of an acre with mature trees and a swimming pool. LaNasa, who runs her own company, CasaLaNasa, did the remodel and interior design.
Stewart, 45, costarred in “3rd Rock From the Sun” (1996-2001) as Harry Solomon, the alien who could communicate from afar with his leader, the Big Giant Head. He is starring in the sitcom “The Horrible Terrible Misadventures of David Atkins” (2010). He has appeared on TV shows, including “The Closer” (2007), and in movies, among them “Inspector Gadget 2” (2003) and “Home Alone 4” (2002).
LaNasa, 43, has appeared on series, including “House” (2009), “Cold Case” (2009), “Ghost Whisperer” (2008) and “Judging Amy” (2003-05).
The property was previously sold in 2000 for $1,919,000, according to public records.

‘Dexter’ star exits the scene quickly
Jennifer Carpenter, who stars on the Showtime series “Dexter” with her husband, Michael C. Hall, has sold her Hollywood Hills home in less than two months for its asking price of $695,000.
The California bungalow, with two bedrooms and 1 1/2 bathrooms, was built as a hunting lodge in 1937. Surrounded by trees and landscaping, the cottage has vaulted ceilings, skylights and decks off the dining room and master bedroom.
Carpenter, 30, plays Dexter Morgan’s sister, Debra. The Emmy-nominated show, in its fourth season, is about a forensics expert and serial killer played by Hall, 38. Carpenter and Hall were married on New Year’s Eve last year.
The actress bought the property in 2007 for $830,000, public records show.
The listing agents are Stephen Placial of Sotheby’s International Realty, Los Feliz, and Steve Clark of Deasy Penner & Partners, Beverly Hills. William Barker of Coldwell Banker’s Brentwood Court office represented the buyer.
Thousand Oaks is his wild West
Actor Robert Conrad and his wife, LaVelda, have listed their equestrian property in Thousand Oaks for $2.25 million, according to the MLS.
The Mediterranean estate has a five-bedroom, 4 1/2 -bathroom house containing 4,605 square feet of living space.
The home, built in 1996, sits behind a gated entry on 3 landscaped acres with a free-form swimming pool and spa and flagstone decking and paths.
Inside, the dramatic two-story entry has a sweeping staircase.
Conrad starred in the TV series “The Wild Wild West” (1965-69) as Secret Service agent James T. West, a role for which he won a spot in the Stuntman’s Hall of Fame. He also appeared in the series “Baa Baa, Black Sheep” (1976-78), “A Man Called Sloane” (1979) and “High Sierra Search and Rescue” (1995).
The property previously sold for $1,975,000 in 2006, public records show.
Buyer has landed in Sunset Strip
Update: Film and TV producer David Niven Jr. has sold his Sunset Strip-area home for $5 million.
The contemporary Mediterranean, built in 1967, has six bedrooms and seven bathrooms in 6,600 square feet. There are high ceilings, skylights, a library and city-light views.
The living room opens to a swimming pool, an outdoor entertainment area and rose gardens.
Niven, 67, has a dozen producing credits, including the 1976 classic “The Eagle Has Landed.”
He is the former head of the William Morris Agency for Europe and the former head of production for Columbia Pictures and Paramount Pictures based in London.
The eldest son of Academy Award-winning actor David Niven Sr., he played the British foreign minister in “Rush Hour 3” (2007).
The house came on the market in May at $5.75 million. The property previously sold in 1983 for $1.2 million, according to the MLS.
