New photos from the "X-Files" set showcase returning stars Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny, as well as some faces new to the series.
Among them is "The Americans" actress Annet Mahendru, who "Entertainment Weekly" reveals plays possible alien abductee Sveta.
Also included in the spread is "Community" actor Joel McHale, who plays a conservative talk show host who enlists Mulder (Duchovny) and Scully's (Anderson) paranormal expertise to investigate Sveta's case.
"Entertainment Weekly" tweeted an image of the cover of its latest issue that features the two returning stars, as well as hints to who else from the original series will be returning for the six-episode event series.
While fans can expect to see familiar faces such as the Cigarette Smoking Man (William B. Davis) and deputy director Walter Skinner (Mitch Pileggi), "X-files" creator Chris Carter shared that fan-favorite monsters will not be revisited during the six-episode event series.
Don't worry, the series will still include monster-of-the-week episodes. They'll just focus on new stories with new monsters.
