THE Westwood farmers market, closed amid construction and controversy in April, will reopen Thursday under new management and at a new location. The market will be at the Veterans Garden, which is at the Veterans Administration complex off Sepulveda Boulevard near Constitution Avenue. It will operate from 1 to 7 p.m., year-round.

Some farmers who have committed to attend are Southern California market mainstays Ha’s Apple Farm, Tamai Farms, Lindner Bison, Peacock Family Farms and Tenerelli Orchards.

The market will be managed by Mark Wall, who sold at the original Gardena farmers market almost 30 years ago, helped organize the first Santa Monica Wednesday market 25 years ago, and served as executive director of the Southland Farmers Market Assn.

The Westwood Village market closed in April because of nearby construction. Last year it was expelled from the Southland Farmers Market Assn. because of numerous ethical violations, which were disputed by the market management.
