Welcome to “The Building,” a new feature showing how neighbors manage to craft very different looks from the same architectural template. This week we go inside the
Broadway Hollywood, a 1927 department store building reborn as 96 loft-style homes. Our tour will include former Jane’s Addiction guitarist Dave Navarro and interior designer Jennifer Culp, but first up: actress Ivana Milicevic, the villainess Valenka in the last James Bond flick, “Casino Royale.” She’s pictured here with Kelly Cole, who devised several design solutions in her loft, including a way to camouflage this giant concrete pillar. Wrapped in snakeskin-embossed leather and laced-up like a corset, what had been an eyesore is now the loft’s centerpiece.
