Earthquake: 3.4 quake strikes near Santa Clarita, Calif.

A shallow magnitude 3.4 earthquake was reported Monday evening four miles from Santa Clarita, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 9:50 p.m. Pacific time at a depth of 8.1 miles.
According to the USGS, the epicenter was 7 miles from San Fernando, 9 miles from West Hills and 11 miles from Castaic.
In the last 10 days, there has been one earthquake of magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby.
