California heat map GIF: Temperatures set to soar
It's going to be very warm this week in California.
Temperatures are expected to leap Tuesday and increase through Friday. The National Weather Service forecasts extreme heat spreading across the state.

Temperatures in the Inland Empire will creep above 90, peaking midweek.
Southern California's coastal areas will be affected as well, with temperatures possibly rising from the low to mid 60s to above 80 degrees. The Channel Islands and Santa Catalina Island will also reach above 80. Beginning Sunday, temperatures will gradually decline.
