AIDS Healthcare Foundation praises porn film company fine

The nonprofit organization that has been pushing for more regulation and oversight of the porn industry announced that a San Francisco-based adult film company had been fined “for numerous occupational safety and health complaints.”

Factory Video, which specializes in gay porn, was fined nearly $60,000 for violations, the AIDS Healthcare Foundation reported.

The nonprofit said it had filed a series of complaints over the last two years.

“I am very pleased to see that Cal/OSHA is really starting to step up its enforcement of existing California health and safety statues that have long required the use of condoms in adult films produced anywhere in California,” Michael Weinstein, the president of the nonprofit, said in a statement.

“All workers deserve a safe workplace,” he said.

Factory Video did not immediately return a request for comment.
