Dimitri Diatchenko, an actor who has appeared in TV’s “Bones” as well as various movies, has been charged with animal cruelty after killing, skinning and cooking his ex-girlfriend’s pet rabbit, prosecutors say.

Diatchenko of North Hollywood is a San Francisco native, according to IMDB, but has performed numerous Russian roles, including on “Bones” and “Sons of Anarchy” and in the 2008 films “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” and “Get Smart.”

The 46-year-old had been sharing a home with a former girlfriend who told him they should no longer live together, the L.A. County district attorney’s office said.

Diatchenko then killed the rabbit and ate half of it, they say, while texting the woman step-by-step pictures. When she returned home, she told police, he threatened to do the same to her.

The actor has been charged with one felony count of cruelty to an animal and criminal threats. He faces up to four years and eight months in jail.

Diatchenko’s arraignment has been set for Dec. 30 and prosecutors are expected to ask that his bail be increased to $90,000, according to a news release.
