The incident began four hours before the shooting, according to KTLA-TV, when the suspect led authorities on a chase that took them on the 91 and 710 freeways before moving to surface streets.

The suspect, who has not been identified, finally crashed into a tree but refused to get out of the vehicle for some time, KTLA reported.
