Video shows car driving in reverse for miles down Laurel Canyon; LAPD investigating
A cellphone video of a motorist speeding recklessly in reverse down Laurel Canyon Boulevard’s steep, finicky curves has attracted the attention of Los Angeles police.
The incident was recorded about 4:45 p.m. Thursday by a witness in a separate vehicle following close behind the Audi as it maneuvered backward for about two miles — occasionally against traffic — from Mulholland Drive south toward Sunset Boulevard.
The video, which was broadcast on CBS2 News, will be investigated by West Traffic Bureau detectives, said Drake Madison, a spokesman for the Los Angeles Police Department.
The investigators will be particularly interested in identifying the driver, Madison said.
