Reader Photo: Not enough hands on Olvera Street

Share

Wanting to incorporate more people into his photos, Salvador Vazquez was walking around during lunchtime snapping portraits on Olvera Street when he noticed one woman having some difficulties.

“Olvera Street was packed with German-speaking tourists, and I saw this lady struggling to take a photo of her friend. Her hands were full of tickets and the camera, and she needed to take her glasses off, and the only place left was between her teeth,” Vazquez said.

While the woman was juggling with her various possessions, Vazquez turned the camera on her, snapping this picture on his Leica M rangefinder camera and later editing it using Lightroom 5. “Usually Olvera Street is very colorful, but this location seemed better in black and white.”
