Former employee accused of hotel robbery
From Times Staff Reports
A man has been arrested on suspicion of robbing a hotel where he worked until 2005, authorities said Thursday.
Bernardo Aviles, 28, of Santa Ana walked into the Comfort Suites on Lake Forest Drive shortly before 5 a.m. Wednesday and robbed the clerk at knifepoint while simulating having a gun, Orange County sheriff’s spokesman Jim Amormino said.
Aviles escaped with $300, which was recovered when he was arrested several hours later, Amormino said.
