Winter storms cause rough roads
Another snowstorm closed highways in parts of the West, and a dangerous sheet of ice in the Midwest contributed to a looming flood problem.
Winter storm warnings were in effect for parts of Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming, Montana and the western Dakotas.
Freezing rain glazed streets and highways in the Chicago area. Interstate 290 was closed for a time because of the ice. Ice also forced closure of the entire Indiana Toll Road, more than 150 miles, for two hours.
But warming temperatures were expected in the Midwest today, prompting the National Weather Service to issue flood watches for much of Illinois.
