Search suspended for missing miners
From Times Wire Reports
Rescuers suspended the search for 23 miners missing after a methane blast at a coal mine, Kazakh officials said, as high temperatures and dangerous gas levels raised the possibility of new explosions. A regional prosecutor announced a criminal investigation into possible safety violations at the mine in the central Karaganda region.
The blast Friday, about 1,640 feet underground, killed at least seven miners and injured 14.
