Hundreds of members of the Falun Gong spiritual movement protested in Hong Kong and Taiwan to mark the 10th anniversary of a surprise demonstration in Beijing that led China to ban the group.
Yellow-shirted practitioners congregated in a downtown Hong Kong park, where they carried out group qigong, or breathing exercises, in a pouring rain.
They then demanded that Beijing end the crackdown on the group. About 800 practitioners held a similar rally in Taipei, Taiwan.
