A golden statue of Wendy from Walt Disney's 1953 animated classic "Peter Pan" soars above the Magic Kingdom theme park at Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla., as worker Dennis Gleeson helps anchor the figure to the highest spire of the 189-foot-tall Cinderella Castle. Walt Disney Imagineers spent months creating a stylish golden overlay for the theme park icon in honor of the "Happiest Celebration on Earth," a global salute to 50 years of Disney magic that will feature new attractions and entertainment at Disney destinations around the world. The castle's new decor elements include golden trim, rose swags, bunting and swirling bands of "pixie dust" encircling its blue spires, plus sculptures of familiar Disney characters.
