SOCHI, Russia -- American short-track speedskater J.R. Celski is expected to medal at the 2014 Sochi Olympics, but that doesn’t mean he will match his buddy, Macklemore.

Just before Celski headed over to Russia, the Seattle rapper enjoyed a big night at the Grammy Awards.

“To see him win four Grammys was incredible,” the racer said.

Shortly after earning two medals at the 2010 Vancouver Games, Celski took time off from his sport to collaborate on a documentary about Seattle’s hip-hop scene. The film included Macklemore and Ryan Lewis.

There has been some speculation that Macklemore might attend the short-track competition in Sochi.

“I don’t think he’s coming out here,” Celski said. “He’s busy.”
