USC safety Gerald Bowman has one of the Trojans’ five interceptions this season, but he says he wants more.

“Every time I touch the field, I’m thinking ‘big play or turnover,’ so when that opportunity comes, I feel as though I’ve prepared enough to execute,” the senior said.

Bowman is hoping opportunity presents itself Saturday night when the No. 18 Trojans play Oregon State in a Pac-12 Conference game at the Coliseum.

USC is 2-1 overall, 1-0 in the Pac-12.

Oregon State, led by quarterback Sean Mannion, is 3-0 and will be playing its conference opener.

Bowman has started every game this season. He is second on the team in tackles, with 22.

“There’s a lot of things I can do better,” he said. “So I come out every day and just try to get better at something, just continue to be a leader on the defense in the secondary.”
