Infographic: A female fraction in the director’s chair
Just 4.6% of films released by the six major studios were directed by women last year. Sony Pictures Entertainment has the highest percentage in recent years, boosted by a specialty division with lower-budget movies. Warner Bros., which relies heavily on big-budget superhero films, has the smallest percentage.
