Steven Zeitchik is a Los Angeles Times staff writer who covers the art and business of film (and, sometimes, the intersection of the two). He previously reported on entertainment for Variety and The Hollywood Reporter and, while at THR, ran the film blog Risky Business, an apt name if ever there was one. He has worked in Jerusalem for the Associated Press and was the recipient of a 2003 Arthur Burns Journalism Fellowship in Berlin, where he wrote pieces for the Washington Post and the International Herald Tribune. He also has contributed arts and culture stories to the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times and was a staff writer covering media at Publishers Weekly and new media (now old media) for The Industry Standard. You can find him at the L.A. Times, on 24 Frames, Twitter (@ZeitchikLAT) and wherever fine housewares are sold.
