7:48 p.m.: Two awards-season comeback stories unfolding simultaneously. As Jeff Bridges wins for ‘Crazy Heart’ on the podium, telling applause-happy audience that ‘you’re really ruining my underappreciated status,’ Sandra Bullock is backstage, talking about the wonders of ... not living near Hollywood. ‘I do think you need to get away from this town ... and think and be clear,’ she says of her residency in Austin, Texas, and then adds, ‘I just want to be able to go back home.’ She also talks about why she pulled a Julia Roberts and turned down the lead role in ‘Blind Side’ before taking it. ‘I didn’t know if I’d know how to play Leigh Anne Tuohy.’ It’s a less theatrical and more salt-of-the-earth backstage performance than her newly minted Oscar rival Meryl Streep -- though she may go a little too far when she talks extensively about her dogs.
