6:55 p.m.: Arnold Schwarzenegger may be leaving office, but the Austrian parade continues at the Beverly Hilton. Not since Falco stormed these shores two decades ago have so many from that small German-speaking nation made their mark at an awards show. After Haneke gave an earnest set of interviews backstage, Christoph Waltz takes the awards podium in the main ballroom and, with a couple of jokes about globes, and orbits and gold globes and orbits...again puns on the award itself! (He did the same at the Critics Choice on Friday, making numerous references to all his ‘Choices.’ Great actor, but someone should tell him he’s not obligated to work in the name of the show every time he accepts an award.
