5:58 p.m.: As Tom Hanks gives the intro for ‘Julie & Julia’ -- one of the few movies with something at stake tonight; if it can win best film - comedy/musical it may vault into the best picture category -- T Bone Burnett and Ryan Bingham (the musician, not the Clooney character) cook up some kind of bantery routine backstage after their best song win. It doesn’t quite work (apparently Bingham was at the bar when word came -- T Bone: ‘He had the speech all written.’ Bingham: ‘I blew it, I’m sorry’) But given the roadhouse feel of the movie their Globes-winning song comes from, it’s kind of OK.
